The News Associates Program is a 12-month immersion in the fast-paced world of news production.
Powered by NBCU Academy curriculum, participants learn and grow their skills in digital, cable, broadcast and newsgathering. The News Associates rotate assignments every three months across the many brands and platforms of NBC News and MSNBC. Each rotation is designed to provide hands on journalism and news production experience. This program is designed for those who want to thrive in roles behind the scenes, not in front of the camera. Participants are required to remain in the program for a minimum of at least 6 months. The News Associate will be paired with a mentor to help guide them successfully through program.
As part of our commitment to finding and developing high potential talent with a broad range of experiences, we encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply, including those from historically underrepresented communities. Candidates from historically underrepresented communities include, but are not limited to, those who are from varied socioeconomic backgrounds or geographies, racially or ethnically diverse, different genders or gender identities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, disabled, and/or military veterans. Applications for the News Associates Program are not evaluated on the basis of any protected characteristic.
