PRELIMINARY INFORMATION: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning. Void where prohibited. The Edit Contest (“Contest”) will begin on September 12, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. ET and end on March 3, 2025 at 8:00 P.M. ET (“Contest Period”). All times in the Contest refer to Eastern Time (“ET”). Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
ELIGIBILITY: Open only to teachers of grades six (6) through twelve (12) engaged by participating public or non-profit schools located in one (1) of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia (excluding Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands and other United States territories) (“Participant Schools”), with a classroom composed of no more than thirty-five (35) students, who have an active “The Edit” NBCU Academy account at https://the-edit.nbcuacademy.com/ (the “Website”), and who have completed “The Edit” program as described in the teacher packet provided through their “The Edit” NBCU Academy account (the “Edit Program”), and who are eighteen (18) years of age or older and the age of majority in their state of residence as of the start of the Contest Period (the “Entrants” and each an “Entrant”). Officers, directors, and employees of Contest Entities (as defined below), members of these persons’ immediate families (spouses and/or parents, children, and siblings, and each of their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside), and/or persons living in the same households as these persons (whether or not related thereto) are not eligible to enter or win the Contest. Contest Entities, as referenced herein, shall include NBCUniversal Media, LLC, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10112, Adobe Inc. (“Adobe”), 345 Park Avenue, San Jose, CA 95110 (collectively, “Sponsors”) and each of their respective parent, subsidiary, and affiliate companies, and their administrative, advertising, and promotion agencies, and any other entity involved in the development, administration, promotion, or implementation of the Contest. It is the responsibility of any Entrant to ensure that their participation in the Contest is in compliance with applicable regulation and policies, including any government gift and ethics rules applicable to you. If you have questions about whether you or your school can accept a prize for this Contest, please contact your organization’s ethics office, legal counsel or designated official. By participating in this Contest, you are confirming your school is eligible to receive a prize if selected as a winner. If you are an employee of the public sector (government and education) or any state-owned entity, all Prizes, as defined below in the Prizes section, will be awarded directly to your public sector organization and subject to your return of a Sponsor-provided prize letter signed by your agency/institution’s ethics officer, attorney, or designated executive/officer responsible for your organization’s gifts/ethics policy. The Sponsors seek to ensure that by offering items of value at no charge in promotional settings it does not create any violation of the Participant School’s applicable gifts and ethics rules.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR TEACHERS/TO ENTER: Prior to submitting your Entry (defined below), you will divide your students into teams of four (4) (“Student Participants”) to create an original simulated news segment video (“Video”) on the following theme: “wellness”, utilizing stock images and footage accessible from the Adobe Express for Education App. Instructions to access the Adobe Express for Education App will be available on the Website. Video may be referred to herein as “Submission” or “Submissions.” The Submission must have been created by your Student Participants. You will choose one winning Video using the judging criteria outlined below in the Round 1 section of “Selection and Notification of Finalists and Winner” from all class sections you teach to submit as your Entry. Video must not be longer than ninety seconds (:90) in length. If Video exceeds ninety seconds (:90) in length, only the first ninety seconds (:90) will be judged. Video must be original and submitted in the English language. Video must be submitted through an Adobe Express published link. Submission cannot have been created professionally. Submissions with watermarks are not eligible. You must submit the Submission according to the instructions provided on the Website. You must have the permission of any person who appears or is identified or otherwise referred to in your Submission, and acknowledge this at the time of the submission of the Entry. If any minors appear in a Video, the Entrant must have signed waivers (“Permission Forms”) from each such minor’s parent or legal guardian. Template Permission Forms can be downloaded from the Website here: https://nbcuacademy.com/the-edit-permission/. Finalists (as defined below) will be required to provide all signed Permission Forms upon request.
To enter the Contest, during the Contest Period, visit the Website, click on the Contest link, and follow the provided instructions to review the teacher packet, complete the Edit Program and thereafter submit the entry form, which includes your full name, email address, name of your school, and the grade level of your Student Participants and Video (the “Entry”, collectively “Entries”).
If you choose to submit your Entry via your web-enabled mobile device, data rates may apply. See your wireless service provider for details on rates and capabilities. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned.
You must submit the Submission as part of your Entry to enter the Contest. Sponsors do not claim ownership of Entries, however, by entering the Contest, Entrants grant Sponsors the non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable, transferable, and irrevocable right and license to use, reproduce, copy, publish, display, distribute, perform, translate, adapt, modify, and otherwise exploit the Submissions and to incorporate the Submissions in other works in any and all markets and media worldwide in perpetuity. Entrants warrant that they have the sole and exclusive right to grant such rights to Sponsors and that Sponsors’ reproduction, publishing, displaying, and/or other use of the Submissions will not infringe on any rights of third parties, including, without limitation, copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity, or create claims for defamation, false light, idea misappropriation, intentional or negligent infliction of emotional distress, or breach of contract. If any Submission contains material that is violent, pornographic, obscene, illegal, inappropriate, or racially or morally offensive or if any Submissions do not comply with these Official Rules or meet Sponsors’ standards for any reason, as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion, such Submissions (and the related Entries) may be rejected as ineligible for consideration and/or deleted from the Website. Entries must comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Sponsors shall have no obligation to copy, publish, display, or otherwise exploit the Submissions. Sponsors may choose to broadcast on-air and/or display on the Website a selection of Submissions from the Finalists as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion. By entering the Contest, each Entrant agrees to the posting of such Entrant’s name and Submission on the Website and/or on Sponsors’ websites, social media accounts, channels, platforms and pages, including, but not limited to, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
Limit one (1) Entry per person during the Contest Period. For teachers running The Edit program in multiple classrooms, you must select one (1) winning team using the judging criteria outlined herein across your classrooms to submit as your Entry. Multiple Entries received from any person beyond this limit will void all such additional Entries. Entries generated by a script, macro, or other automated means or by any means that subverts the entry process will be disqualified. Entries must be received before March 3, 2025 at 8:00 P.M. ET be eligible for the Contest. Sponsors’ computer shall be the official timekeeper for all matters related to this Contest. Entries that are incomplete, garbled, corrupted, fraudulent, or unintelligible for any reason, including, but not limited to, computer or network malfunction or congestion, are void and will not be accepted. In case of a dispute over the identity of an Entrant, the authorized account holder of the email address used to enter will be deemed to be the Entrant. “Authorized account holder” of an email address is defined as the person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address submitted at the time of Entry. Entry constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use Entrant name, city, state, likeness, image, and/or voice for purposes of advertising, promotion, and publicity in any and all media now or hereafter known, throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification, permission, or approval.
PRIVACY: It is important that you read these Official Rules, together with any other terms, releases, and notices that we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal information about you, so that you are aware of how and why we are using such information. If there are third parties involved in the Edit Program who have collected your personal information directly from you, they may use your information in accordance with their own privacy and cookie notices, which you should also read.
Entrants may have the opportunity to receive information from Sponsors and selected partners by checking the appropriate box(es). If, at any time, you no longer wish to receive materials from Sponsors or our partners, please go to our privacy policy, located at https://www.nbcuniversal.com/privacy, https://www.adobe.com/privacy/policy.html or the applicable partner’s privacy policy and follow the procedures indicated.
SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF FINALISTS AND WINNER: There will be two (2) rounds of judging: Round 1: Initial Judging to Determine the Finalists; and Round 2: Judging to Determine the Winners.
Round 1: Initial Judging to Determine the Finalists: On or about March 17, 2025, one (1) or more qualified judges selected by Sponsors (“Judges”) will review all eligible Entries received during the Contest Period and select up to ten (10) potential finalists, (collectively, “Finalists”, each a “Finalist”) based on the following judging criteria (“Judging Criteria”): Originality (25%), Creativity (25%), Production Quality (25%), and Appropriateness to Theme (25%). Each Finalist will advance to Round 2: Judging to Determine the Winner, subject to verification of eligibility. The selection and review process may occur on a rolling basis as Entries are received. In the event of a tie, the Judges will break the tie by selecting the tied entrant who received the highest points from the Judges for Creativity to advance to Round 2. In the event a tie remains, the tied entries will be judged by an additional tie-breaking judge, using the Judging Criteria, to determine which of the tied entrants will advance to Round 2.
Sponsors reserve the right to pick fewer than ten (10) Finalists (or none at all) or to extend the Contest Entry Period if the Contest does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Entries, as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion. Sponsors will make two (2) attempts to notify potential Finalists at the email address submitted at the time of Entry. Potential Finalist(s) may be required as a condition of continued eligibility to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, release of liability, and, except where prohibited, publicity release, and all signed Permission Forms for any minors depicted in the Video (collectively, “Contest Documents”) within two (2) days of such notification. Noncompliance within this time period will result in disqualification, and at Sponsors’ sole discretion an alternate potential Finalist may be selected from remaining eligible Entries based on the Judging Criteria. If any potential Finalist cannot be reached, is found to be ineligible, cannot or does not comply with these Official Rules, or does not satisfactorily execute and return all of the Contest Documents, such potential Finalist will be disqualified and time permitting, at Sponsors’ sole discretion, an alternate potential Finalist may be selected from the remaining eligible Entries.
Round 2: Judging to Determine the Winner: On or about April 7, 2025, one (1) or more qualified Judges will review all eligible Entries received from the Finalists during the Contest Period and select six (6) potential winners (collectively, “Winners”, each a “Winner”) based on the Judging Criteria, including three (3) Winners from classrooms of grades six (6) through eight (8) and three (3) Winners from classrooms of grades nine (9) through twelve (12) (each set of grades a “Judged Group”), with a first place winner (“First Prize Winner” and collectively “First Prize Winners”), second place winner (“Second Prize Winner” and collectively “Second Prize Winners”), and third place winner (“Third Prize Winner” and collectively “Third Prize Winners”) for each Judged Group. In the event of a tie, ties will be broken as described with regards to Finalists.
Decisions of Sponsors and Judges are final and binding with respect to all matters related to the Contest. Winning is subject to verification of eligibility. Sponsors reserve the right to select fewer than six (6) Winners (or none at all) or to extend the Contest Period if the Contest does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Entries, as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion. Sponsors will make two (2) attempts to notify potential Winner at the email address submitted at the time of Entry. Sponsors may share each potential Winner’s name and contact information with Contest Entities and/or any prize supplier, as applicable, if necessary. Potential Winner(s) may be required to execute and return the Contest Documents within two (2) days of such notification. Noncompliance within this time period will result in disqualification, and, at Sponsors’ sole discretion an alternate potential Winner may be selected from the remaining eligible Entries based on the Judging Criteria. If any potential Winner cannot be reached, is found to be ineligible, cannot or does not comply with these Official Rules, or if Prize (as defined below) or Prize notification is returned as undeliverable, such potential Winner will be disqualified and time permitting, at Sponsors’ sole discretion, an alternate potential Winner may be selected from the remaining eligible Entries. Limit one (1) Prize (defined below) per family or household.
PRIZE: Winning entrants will recommend their Participant School as the prize recipients. Sponsors will review recommendations and make final determinations of prize recipients consistent with these Official Rules. As such, the prize recipients are chosen without any action on their part and are not required to perform services in the future. Prizes as defined in the following section will be distributed to the designated schools. There will be two (2) first prizes awarded (collectively “First Prizes” and each a “First Prize”) to the First Prize Winners in each Judged Group, two (2) second prizes awarded (collectively, “Second Prizes”, each a “Second Prize”) to the Second Prize Winners in each Judged Group; and two (2) third prizes (collectively “Third Prizes,” and each a “Third Prize”) will be awarded to the Third Prize Winners in each Judged Group. Each First Prize consists of the following: up to thirty-five (35) GoPro HERO11 Black; up to thirty-five (35) 50″ Aluminum camera tripod with level indicator, tripod mount, and microfiber cloth; up to thirty-five (35) Adobe branded computer backpack; up to thirty-five (35) swag bags containing notebooks, hats, and potentially other items (the “Swag Bags” and each a “Swag Bag”); and one (1) twelve (12) month Peacock Premium Voucher Code for the Entrant (the “Peacock Code”). Each Second Prize will consist of the following: up to thirty-five (35) twenty-five dollar ($25) Fandango giftcards (the “Fandango Code”); up to thirty-five (35) Swag Bags; and one (1) Peacock Code for the Entrant. Each Third Prize will consist of the following: up to thirty-five (35) Swag Bags and one (1) Peacock Code. First Prizes, Second Prizes, and Third Prizes may collectively be referred to herein as “Prize” or “Prizes”. In no event will more than 70 GoPros, 70 tripods, and 70 backpacks be awarded for the First Prizes. The number of GoPros, tripods, backpacks, and Swag Bags awarded will be equal to the number of students enrolled in the Entrant’s classroom.
This is a skill-based Contest. Odds of winning a prize will depend on the number and quality of eligible Entries received, and the relative skill of Student Participants. Prize will be awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsors. Prize is subject to certain terms and conditions as specified by issuer. Restrictions may apply.

Estimated Retail Value (“ERV”) of the Prizes are as follows: ERV of each First Prize is up to sixteen thousand four hundred fifty and 00/100 dollars ($16,450.00); ERV of each Second Prize is up to one thousand nine hundred eighty-four and 99/100 dollars ($1,984.99); and ERV of each Third Prize is up to one thousand one hundred nine and 99/100 dollars ($1,109.99). Total ERV of all Prizes is thirty-nine thousand eighty-nine and 96/100 dollars ($39,089.96). Actual Retail Value (“ARV”) of Prize may vary. Any difference between ERV and ARV will not be awarded.

CONDITIONS: By entering the Contest, each Entrant agrees for Entrant and for Entrant’s heirs, executors, and administrators (a) to release and hold harmless Contest Entities and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, and employees (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from such Entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or Entrant’s acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of Prize or any portion thereof (including any travel related thereto); (b) to indemnify Released Parties from any and all liability resulting or arising from the Contest and to hereby acknowledge that Released Parties have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to Prize, including express warranties provided exclusively by prize supplier that are sent along with Prize; (c) if selected as a Winner, to the posting of such Entrant’s name on the Website and the use by Released Parties of such name, city, state, likeness, image, and/or voice for purposes of advertising, promotion, and publicity in any and all media now or hereafter known, throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification, permission, or approval, and, upon request, to the giving of consent, in writing, to such use; (d) if selected as a Winner, in accordance with the Permission Forms, that Sponsor has the right to the post of such Entrant’s Student Participants’ first names on the Website and the use by Released Parties of such name, city, state, likeness, image, and/or voice of the Student Participants for purposes of advertising, promotion, and publicity in any and all media now or hereafter known, throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification, permission, or approval, and, upon request, to the giving of consent, in writing, to such use; and (e) to be bound by these Official Rules and to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error therein or in the Contest itself, and to be bound by all decisions of the Sponsors, which are binding and final. Failure to comply with these conditions may result in disqualification from the Contest at Sponsors’ sole discretion.
ADDITIONAL TERMS: Sponsors reserve the right to permanently disqualify from any promotion any person they believe has intentionally violated these Official Rules. Any attempt to deliberately damage the Contest or the operation thereof is unlawful and subject to legal action by Sponsors, who may seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. The failure of Sponsors to comply with any provision of these Official Rules due to an act of God, hurricane, war, fire, riot, earthquake, terrorism, act of public enemies, actions of governmental authorities outside of the control of Sponsors (excepting compliance with applicable codes and regulations), or other “force majeure” event will not be considered a breach of these Official Rules. Released Parties assume no responsibility for any injury or damage to Entrants’ or to any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from entering or downloading materials or software in connection with the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical, or computer failures of any kind; for inaccurate transcription of Entry information; for errors in any promotional or marketing materials or in these Official Rules; for any human or electronic error; or for Entries that are stolen, misdirected, garbled, delayed, lost, late, damaged, or returned. Sponsors reserve the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the Contest or any element thereof (including, without limitation, these Official Rules) without notice in any manner and for any reason (including, without limitation, in the event of any unanticipated occurrence that is not fully addressed in these Official Rules). In the event of cancellation, modification, or suspension, Sponsors reserve the right to select Winners in a random drawing from among all eligible, non-suspect Entries received prior to the time of the event warranting such cancellation, modification, or suspension. Notice of such cancellation, modification, or suspension will be posted on the Website. Sponsors may prohibit any Entrant or potential Entrant from participating in the Contest, if such Entrant or potential Entrant shows a disregard for these Official Rules; acts with an intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other Entrant, Sponsors, or Sponsors’ agents or representatives; or behaves in any other disruptive manner (as determined in Sponsors’ sole discretion). Sponsors reserve the right to modify these Official Rules for clarification purposes without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the Contest. Sponsors seek participants to comply with their Code of Conduct, Company policies, and any laws, policies and regulations of any applicable jurisdiction in connection with this contest. By accepting, you acknowledge that your acceptance of the Prize complies with all applicable local laws and regulations, as well as your school’s internal policies.
DISPUTES: The CONTEST is governed by, and will be construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of NEW YORK, and the forum and venue for any dispute shall be in NEW YORK, NEW YORK. If THE controversy or claim is not otherwise resolved through direct discussions or mediation, it shall THEN be resolved by FINAL AND binding arbitration administered by JUDICIAL ARBITRATION AND MEDIATION SERVICES, INC., in accordance with its Streamlined Arbitration Rules and Procedures or subsequent versions thereof (“JAMS Rules”). The JAMS Rules for selection of an arbitrator shall be followed, except that the arbitrator shall be experienced and licensed to practice law in NEW YORK. All proceedings brought pursuant to this paragraph will be conducted in the County of NEW YORK, NEW YORK. THE REMEDY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL DAMAGES, AND IN NO EVENT SHALL ANY PARTY BE ENTITLED TO RECOVER PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES OR OTHER SUCH RELATED COSTS OF BRINGING A CLAIM, OR TO RESCIND THIS AGREEMENT OR SEEK INJUNCTIVE OR ANY OTHER EQUITABLE RELIEF.
