NBC Dateline field producer Terrell Tangonan walks you through lighting and sound equipment and how to get the best possible footage in the field. He goes over preparing for an upcoming shoot, using microphones and lighting and organizing your equipment.
“In this job, you have to act quickly,” Tangonan said. “You don’t want to go ‘Where’s that battery? Where’s that cable?’ Keep it organized and keep it simple. You’re trying to find that right balance where you have all the equipment that you think you need but you want to be able to carry it on your back.”
