The News Associates Program is a 12-month immersion in the fast-paced world of news production.
Overview
Powered by NBCU Academy curriculum, participants learn and grow their skills in digital, cable, broadcast and newsgathering. The News Associates rotate assignments every three months across the many brands and platforms of NBC News. Each rotation is designed to provide hands on journalism and news production experience. This program is designed for those who want to thrive in roles behind the scenes, not in front of the camera. Participants are required to remain in the program for a minimum of at least 6 months. The News Associate will be paired with a mentor to help guide them successfully through program.

Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree. Masters degree desired.
- Journalism experience.
- Commitment to a career in television news production.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and proven leadership skills.
- Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States through September 2028.
- Must be willing to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends, often with short notice.
- Must be willing to sign a one-year employment contract committing to remain with the company for the full year in New York, NY.
- Must be 18 years or older.
