Do I need to apply to join NBCU Academy?
You don’t need to apply! Our online programming is available to everyone, from students to working professionals, and can be found here.
Students who are enrolled at our academic partners will also receive on-campus education and training as well as access to our world-renowned journalists and industry leaders.
Can middle and high school students participate in NBCU Academy?
NBCU Academy’s free program The Edit is designed for use in middle and high school classrooms. It provides students the opportunity to develop media and digital literacy skills while creating their own video news reports.
Students of all ages are also encouraged to take our Fundamentals of Journalism course and view our Watch & Learn videos and Next Level Summits.
Can NBCU Academy partner with my school?
Unfortunately, we aren’t able to add partners at this time, but we will continue to communicate with you about NBCU Academy programming that may be of interest to your school. We will update our website if we are able to extend offers to additional academic partners.
Does Original Voices accept applications?
At this time, the Original Voices fellowship is invitation-only. It is designed to support independent filmmakers who seek out stories that reflect our increasingly diverse community. We source potential invitees with the help of experienced documentary film programmers and curators. The shorts pitch is a national open call.
